Our goal is to help children develop a love for learning through athletics. Our positive sports instruction helps to develop body awareness and self confidence which in turn develops physically fit, positive, happy adults.

We ask that you respect these age groups when registering.

Program Descriptions

Parent/Tot Classes Our Parent/Tot gymnastics Program is designed, first and foremost, to be a fun and safe learning experience for your child. We also teach basic gymnastics skills, and work on motor skill development through many creative activities which are incorporated into our lesson plans. The parent's role in this class is assistant teacher. Your attention will be focused on your child 100% of the time. You will guide your child through gymnastics circuits, applaud their successes, and spot as necessary.

BabyBears - Walking to 23 months

ToddlerBears - 24 months to 35 months

Bears-in-training (BITS)- 36 months to three-and-a-half years

TumbleBear Pre-school Gymnastics Classes Our TumbleBear Programs are designed to raise each child's level of confidence by encouraging them to go beyond their own expectations, and to develop their kinesthetic awareness and overall coordination. We do this through the sport of gymnastics. The loving and caring environment created by our qualified staff allows each child to feel secure and progress at his or her own pace. Our progressive skill-level instructional programs help to build your child's confidence, self-esteem, and physical skills. Our circuit method of instruction keeps our classes moving - nobody gets bored waiting - and allows each child to focus on themselves. Our group classes introduce students to other children their age and help build social skills.

TumbleBear Age Groups:

Cubs - Ages 3-1/2 to 4-1/2

BusyBears - Ages 4-1/2 to 5

KinderBears - Ages 5 and 6, turning five before Sept 30th 2004 and currently enrolled in kindergarten.

GymStars School aged Gymnastics Classes

Gymnastics is an unsurpassed children's activity for building fitness as well as teaching essential life skills. Our class program is non-competitive and the pace is individual.

Students are evaluated each session. Ribbons are awarded for passing a level in each event, and a certificate is awarded when they advance to a higher skill level (advancing a level on all four gymnastics events). Instructors complete evaluation cards each session so the students know what skills they need to work on to advance.

Children new to gymnastics and first-graders should sign up for an age-appropriate beginner class. Students previously enrolled in our classes should sign up for whatever level they were last enrolled in.

Our class levels are:

Beginner (GymStars Level 1 & 2)

Intermediate (GymStars Level 3)

Advanced Workout (GymStars Levels 4 & 5)

Office Procedures

We have made a BIG Change This Year...

Our programs have always been primarily intended for students to participate in for the entire school year. To increase the attraction of this philosophy we are switching from a session billing cycle to a monthly billing cycle for all of our programs. We tested this in our Dance Program last year and it worked very well for everyone.

Program Design

Our programs are designed to be 37-week programs, running through the school year. When you enroll in a class in the fall, this class will build through the year and culminate the last week in May. This will benefit our students in a number of ways:

· The entire class can advance through the year because of fewer changes
· Students are encouraged to enroll in more than one class to become a more well-rounded athlete. Monthly payments and a quantity discount make this more feasible for families.
· Students can plan to stay in the same class(es) throughout the year - more continuity and better carpool options for parents.
· Teachers can move students up to more difficult classes on an as-needed basis rather than waiting for the new semester.
· A nine-month commitment allows the students and teachers to progress more quickly to advanced levels of gym.

Payment Information: Fees for our 37-week class year is broken up into nine monthly payments. To register for a class, you must pay your first and last months' fees, plus your annual administrative fee of $37 if due. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

Family Discount: You pay full price for the most expensive tuition in your family; all additional students receive 20% off

Enrolling: First and last month payments are due upon enrollment, along with the $37 annual administrative fee.

Late Payment Fee: Payments are due by the first of each month, October through April. Payments received after the 7th will be charged a $10 late fee. If payment is not received by the 15th, students with outstanding balanced will not be permitted to participate in class.

Bounced Check Fee: $25 per occurrence. We reserve the right to refuse payment by check for repeat check bouncers.

Annual Administrative Fee: The annual administrative fee of $37 is a family fee. It remains the same regardless of the number of immediate family members enrolled at Airborne. This fee is paid upon initial registration and every 12 months thereafter. It is an administrative fee which helps cover the cost of registering and maintaining your family in our records. The administrative fee qualifies your family for our multiple class discount, as well asspecial prices on our open gyms, birthday parties, vacation mini-gym camps, and other special activities. This fee is not refundable or transferable, but we will honor its value for 12 months.

How do I figure out what my monthly payment is?
For each child, figure out how many class hours they are attending per week. You pay full price for the highest tuition in your family, and 20% off all other monthly tuition rates for your family.

May I pay for more than one month at a time?
Yes you may.

Dropping a class- what happens if my child doesn't like the class?
Students new to Airborne may come to class for the first four weeks with no risk to you. If your child does not like the class, we will refund 100% of your tuition (your annual administration fee is non-refundable). After four weeks, and for students who are not new to our program, there are no refunds.

Withdrawing or taking time off: Just let us know one month before your last class. For example, if you plan to stop at the end of January, you must inform us in writing by December 31st and we will simply apply your last month's tuition towards January. If you let us know after the first, you will lose your last month's tuition.
Exception: Dance Classes. Once Recital charges have been assessed to your account, we will expect you to continue through to the recital. After December, if you drop out before the end of the year you will forfeit your last month's payment (as well as any recital fees you have paid).

Switching Classes: If your child would like to switch to a different class, you may do so at any time on a space-available basis.
Exception: Dance Classes. You may switch into a Dance Class prior to January on a space-available basis. We close dance enrollment on January 10th to prepare for the recital.

Refund Policy: Previously Enrolled Students: Full refund, minus a $25 withdrawal fee, is available up to 24 hours before the first class. After that, no refunds will be given.
New students: A refund is available up until your child's fourth class. After that, no refunds will be given.

Class Policies Our class policies (such as dress code and class make-ups) vary from program to program. To avoid misunderstandings, please read the appropriate program policies before enrolling in a class.

Class Cancellation: Classes with fewer than four students enrolled may be cancelled or re-scheduled.

Airborne Gym Facility Policies

Children not in class must be supervised at all times. Please do not leave children unattended in our facility at any time. Our office staff is responsible for answering phones, assisting customers with store sales, and attending to minor first aid needs of students. They can not be responsible for watching a child that is not in class.

Please do not permit your young child to "shop" in our store unattended. We have had items accidentally destroyed by young children playing in our store. We cannot sell items that have been thrown on the floor repeatedly.

Lost and Found: We keep lost items at our facility for two weeks. After two weeks, items are donated to local charities. Airborne Gymnastics & Dance is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Remember to take jewelry off of your child before class starts!

Snow Days: We rarely close due to inclement weather. Usually our staff is here before the weather gets bad, so we stay open. If the weather is bad, please call before coming in. If we do close, we will have a message to that effect on our phone answering machine. You may schedule a make-up for classes missed due to weather.

Our customers attend schools in many different school districts. Do not assume that your child does not have class because the schools are closed in your area. Please call if you are in doubt.

If the weather is bad, please use your best judgment when deciding whether or not to come to class. Remember: keeping your family safe is more important than attending one class!

Special events at Airborne

This year we have many special events planned for our students and their parents.

When we look for new staff members, we look for people who truly love children. We can teach people the skills and supply them with technical information, but you can’t teach people how to love kids.

Climbing Staff

Tracy Sowder began working with the Boy Scouts in 1996, helped with a climbing outing where he tried climbing for the first time. At the time he said, "I think I’m hooked." Since then he has worked at learning all aspects of climbing with particular close attention to self-rescue and safety techniques. He has led 5.10 sport climbs and 5.8 TRAD climbs, including Devils Tower and the north face of Longs Peak. His goal in teaching climbing is to pass on this enjoyable sport to others in a safe and controlled way. He enjoys teaching both kids and adults, and especially likes working with kids with physical and or learning challenges.

John Freeman started climbing in 1967 in eighth grade through the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group. I started instructing in my senior year of High school. I have completed many trad climbs in the Boulder area. I also did a lot of very difficult boulder problems on Flagstaff Mountain and in Fort Collins. I have climbed in Rocky Mountain National Park, Eldorado Springs, and in California. I enjoy teaching young kids all aspects of climbing, and building self esteem in them selves. Also enjoy teaching parents how to climb.

Scott Whitehead started climbing over 25 years ago after moving to Boulder and looking at the Flatirons with amazement. He has climbed many of the classic rock climbing routes in the Boulder area and numerous technical routes on several 14ers in Colorado and California. Scott was an assistant student teacher for rock climbing at Fairview High School during his senior year in 1983. In 1984, Scott became involved with Rocky Mountain Rescue Group. He served as Group Leader for two years and Assistant Group Leader for 3 years and has responded to well over 1000 search and rescue calls, many of them technical in nature for injured climbers. With climbing safety in the forefront of Scott's experience, he has assisted in and taught outdoor/climbing/mountaineering safety instruction classes and talks to local schools, boy scout troops and outdoor groups as a service of Rocky Mountain Rescue Group. Scott started bringing his two boys to Airborne Gym in 2003 to teach them to climb and has enjoyed teaching other children and adults as well.

Airborne Gymnastics & Dance History

Colorado Gymnastics World opened its doors in April of 1989, in a warehouse in Longmont. Pam Turner, the current owner, began working as team program director in January of 1990. She bought the business in August of 1991. Since the business opened, our enrollment has continued to increase every year, to the point where we were forced to start waiting lists for many of our classes. Our new, larger, specialized facility opened in September 1996; at that time we added our Dance and Climbing programs and changed our name to Airborne Gym. In 2005 we more than doubled the size of the facility; this provides more equipment for more programs and more classes during the hours most convenient to our customers.

Pam Turner and her husband Pat Mosier are the owners of the business. They have two daughters: Ariel, age 11, and Annabelle, age 6.

Pam is the General Manager. Pam grew up in Connecticut where she trained as an Elite Gymnast, and then attended Southern Illinois University on an athletic scholarship. After earning her degree in Athletic Training, Pam moved to Colorado and began work for the former owners of Colorado Gymnastics World in January 1990. Pam has been a professional member of USA Gymnastics since 1985.
